What it looks like

Real people. Real play.

These are participants at a recent Improv for Everyone session in Bangkok. Most of them had never done improv before.

Who it's for

Different backgrounds. One ensemble.

Made for people who've never tried improv. Thai and international, any job, any age. It runs in English, but you don't need perfect English and you don't need to be funny.

Confidence

Stop overthinking and start responding to what's in front of you. People feel it in conversations, meetings and everyday life.

Creativity

Make up characters, places and stories on the spot, and find out how much you can create when you stop planning.

Connection

Listen closely, support your scene partners and build something together. By the end you're an ensemble.

How the course works

From first game to final show

Each class builds step by step in a supportive group. Here's what you'll be doing.

  1. Guided exercises

Warm-ups and games that get you moving, listening and saying yes.

  2. Scene work

Short scenes with partners, building characters and stories together.

  3. Classmates who have your back

Everyone's job is to make their partners look good. Nobody is left hanging.

  4. Coaching from Curt

Group and individual coaching during classes, with time set aside for one-to-one feedback.

  5. A show together

The group shapes and performs a graduation show for an audience.

From Curt's students

What it's like to learn with Curt

When I first started improv, I was quite shy and often overthinking everything… Curt has this incredible ability to create a supportive environment where you feel safe to take risks, make bold choices, and truly take up space.

Christy LauTeacher / Poet

I've seen him help people with 20 years of experience, and people with no experience at all, and all of them come away from his sessions having learned something.

Andrew RTeacher

He has this ability to see potential in everyone in the room and give genuine encouragement rather than pressure… He makes the process feel safe enough to take risks.

Kanoon PBusiness Development

Curt is a teacher who understands his learners and sees each person's potential. He makes improvisation both fun and relaxing by explaining everything step by step, so it's easy to understand, and gives everyone the chance to try things fully. The activities helped me feel more confident and braver about expressing myself.

Kru SomThai language teacher, French International School of Bangkok

A teacher with a combination of high expectations, encouragement, and a gift for allowing his students to fail their way to success. The skills you can learn from him will translate to confidence in daily interactions.

Gary M

Whether it's a practice, a workshop, or a live show, everything is thoughtfully structured and consistently well communicated.

Mena SRadiation Oncologist

I strongly recommend Curt for anyone or any company that wants to develop improv skills in a safe supportive environment.

Questions

Good to know

I've never done improv or acting. Is that OK?

Yes. That's exactly who Improv 101 is for. We build up step by step, starting with simple games.

Do I have to be funny?

No. Improv is about listening, playing and supporting your partners. The laughs come from that, not from trying to be funny.

Is my English good enough?

If you can follow this page, yes. The course is taught in English, but it's not an English test. Native, fluent and second-language speakers all play together.

Will it be embarrassing?

It's built step by step in a supportive group. The whole point is to make your partners look good, so nobody is left hanging.

Can friends and family watch the graduation show?

Yes. Admission is free for everyone. The show time will be confirmed closer to the date.

Will the Wednesday course definitely run?

Not yet. It's an alternative schedule that depends on interest. Tap the Wednesday button to tell Curt you're interested and he'll let you know whether it will run.

Can my company pay?

Yes. Message Curt for an invoice or a quote for several places.

How do I pay?

Message Curt on WhatsApp or email curt@zmackfamily.com and he'll send you the details.
